"The world is charged with the grandeur of God. It will flame out, like shining from shook foil; It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil crushed. Why do men then now not reck his rod?" (774)
Often times I look at things in nature and the environment and wonder what made God think of that. Like the stars in the sky. Each one looking almost identical but in reality are shaped and sized differently. Like the trees and grass. I believe green is God's favorite color, because you see it everywhere you go. When I look up into the sky, I sometimes try to focus real hard to see how far I can see. I wonder, why he made mountains and valleys and how does the ocean know where to stop. All of this to me, is the grandeur of God.

It's nice you feel a personal connection with Hopkins's writing, but what do you think Hopkins meant in his writing? How do you think his life affected his views on God? Also, you may want to try to introduce the author, rather than simply beginning with a quote. But still, a very good job of expressing the emotions connected with Hopkins's poetry.
Sherri,
These posts on the final day tend to be much shorter and more perfunctory than your earlier, better posts. I think you identify well with Hopkins's feelings about God and nature here, but you don't support and illustrate your comments in enough detail.
I liked your personal sentiments on God's glorious work. I feel like Hopkins shared some of your feelings. I think this could have been a more effective post with more references to the poem.
